Channel 6, WTVR News, says that they spoke with Ben Fawley about a week after Taylor Behl disappeared. The one condition he set for the interview was that his face not be shown. Fawley said this, of the night that Taylor vanished, "She said she wanted to drop her purse off: so, I walked her back to the dorm. After that, I lost track of time."
Thank you to DW for the heads up on this information.
The FOX News show, "On the Wire with Greta Van Susteren" will discuss an interview given by Ben Fawley to a CBS affiliate. Her guest, Mark Fuhrman, one of the detectives that investigated the OJ Simpson case, and who is now a true-crime writer, will give his analysis on Fawley's interview. The show airs at 10 P.M. EDT.
NBC4 News is reporting that soil samples taken from the underside of Taylor's car match soil samples taken from the abandoned farm where Taylor's remains were buried.
The press release from the Richmond PD on Tuesday asked residents in and around where Taylor's remains were discovered to think back to between September 5 and September 17, to see if they can recall seeing Taylor's car in the area. With the report from NBC4 regarding the soil samples being similar, the police are likely looking for a witness to definitively put the car in the area.
On Tuesday, the multi-jurisdictional task force investigating Taylor's death asked residents of Mathews County, VA, to call them with any information regarding the case. Investigators are specifically interested in sightings of the following items between the dates of Sept. 5 to Sept. 17:
- Virginia personalized license plate: "GRN ERTH"
- Virginia license plate: JPC 2848
- Ohio license plate: EP 34 KW
- A white Ford Escort

Investigators need to know when and where the vehicle was spotted and a description of who was driving. It goes without saying that if anyone saw Ben Fawley in the area during that time period, the authorities need to know that as well.
Fawley was in court again on Tuesday for arraignment on the weapons charge. As a convicted felon, VA law prohibits him from possessing a firearm. His attorney turned the weapon over to police sometime between when Taylor disappeared and when Fawley was arrested. The police have not commented on the weapons charge other than saying that they believe that Fawley had the gun before Taylor disappeared. The added charge could add up to 5 years to the 80 that he already faces on the possession of child pornography charges. A preliminary hearing on the new charge is scheduled for December 12. The child porn charges are set for a preliminary hearing on October 31. Fawley's attorney, Chris Collins, who was not in court for Tuesday's hearing, was appointed by the court to represent Fawley for the new charge.
Though the investigators did not specifically say why they are interested in the license plates they listed, we already know that Taylor's plates are the Virginia plates "JPC 2848," and we know that the VA personalize plates "GRN ERTH" were stolen at about the same time that Taylor disappeared. It is believed that when Taylor's car was found on September 17, it bore the Ohio plates "EP 34 KW."
Anyone who may have information is asked to call the Tip Line at 804-514-TIPS (8477) or the State Police at 1-800-582-8350.
As we already know, Taylor'r remains were released on Tuesday to her family. Sources close to the investigation state that there was "nothing obvious" to point to a cause of death. The Virginia Medical Examiner's Office says that further tests are needed, as "much deeper analysis" is needed. When asked on a time frame for the additional tests, the response was that results could take several weeks.
The visitation, which is scheduled for tomorrow, would have been Taylor's 18th birthday. The family's attorney, George O. Peterson says that the visitation and services are closed to the media, asking for privacy for the family, friends, and well-wishers.
