10/11/2005 Richmond PD Press Update

The Richmond Police Department has charged Ben Fawley, 38, of Richmond with possession of a firearm while a convicted felon. The warrant was served Friday. Virginia law prohibits a police department from releasing prior criminal history.

The charge stems from the Department’s continued focused and aggressive investigation. The investigation has established that Fawley was in possession of firearms prior to Taylor being reported missing.

Police do not have the cause of death of Ms. Behl. They are waiting for the medical examiner’s report.

The investigation is continuing and no further information is available at this time.

WRIC 8 News is reporting that they have received information saying that Fawley's credit card shows charges for gas in New Kent County on the day that Taylor disappeared. New Kent County is between Richmond and Mathews County.
Fawley was in court again this morning for his arraignment on the weapons charges. Fawley has not been charged with anything related to Taylor Behl...... yet.
The Medical Examiner's Office has released Taylor's remains to the family. The Viewing and Church Services have been scheduled.
