The police have positively identified the remains found yesterday as those of Taylor Behl. The police used dental records to make the ID. The investigation continues, and the scope has "narrowed significantly" according to the FOX report. They are confident that they will resolve the case soon. The cause of death remains uncertain, the remains are at the medical examiner's for autopsy.
Adding to the tradedy, today's ID comes on Taylor's mother's birthday, and just one week before Taylor's 18th birthday.
This morning Taylor Behl's mother made the heartrending announcement that she believes the remains found in Mathews, VA, yesterday are those of her daughter. By her side during a press conference in front of her Vienna, VA, home, were Taylor's father, Matt Behl, and her attorney George O. Peterson.
"I'm sure you can imagine the shock and horror that I feel knowing that the body found is most likely my baby," an obviously grief stricken mother told the media. Attorney Peterson said that the family would not comment on whether the clothing found with the body belongs to Taylor, only saying that the family believes with "a high degree of certainty" that Taylor has been found. Peterson went on to say that he believes that the person responsible is already in custody, an obvious reference to Ben Fawley. Peterson deflected questions specifically making reference to Ben Fawley. Peterson confirmed that dental records and DNA samples have already been provided to the task force, and that is what the investigators will likely use to make an identification, which they expect to happen shortly. According to Peterson, the family will begin making final arrangements later today.
Though task force members have not officially released an identity, the spokesperson for the Richmond Police Department, Cynthia Price says that the family's assumption that the remains are those of their daughter is a "pretty accurate" one. The task force expects it to take a couple of days to identify the remains officially. Once official identification is made, they will release a statement.
Ms. Pelasara, speaking from the heart said, "My mind cannot absorb the fact that someone could do something this cruel and heinous to my 17-year old. I am positive the authorities will bring these sub-humans to justice, and I pray they receive the death penalty."
Chris Collins, Ben Fawley's attorney, has not returned phone calls from the many media outlets that have attempted to get a statement from him. It should be noted that nobody has been charged, and nobody has been named a suspect at this point.
Peterson addressed the issue of the location by saying that he has information that confirms that the family of one of Fawley's ex-girlfriends owns abandoned farm.
Ms. Pelasara thanked many people, including the investigators, those that have contributed money to the reward fund saying, "Whether it was time spent or money contributed, or most comforting, your prayers, thank you from the bottom of my sad and broken heart. My thank you [list] could go on forever. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. God Bless."
"The utmost question in my mind is whether others were involved," Peterson told the media at the press conference. Stating "the circumstances behind the case" Peterson says that he and the family want to know what role Jesse Schultz played in the disappearance of Taylor. Schultz became a part of the investigation after Taylor's car was found, and police bloodhounds tracked a scent from her car to the apartment where Schultz lives. Based on that track by the bloodhounds, Peterson said, "...It seems very suspicious and coincidental to me. The authorities are looking into any connection."
Peterson says that Schultz works at Village Cafe a place that Taylor frequented, and where she had dinner on the day she disappeared. Peterson also said that Schultz has connections to many skateboarders in the area, and it his understanding that Taylor may have had plans to meet Schultz to go skateboarding later that evening. Peterson says he is not certain that Schultz knows Ben Fawley, but that it is his understanding that Fawley has worked at the Village Cafe as well. Though Schultz is not in custody, he was arrested for possession of cocaine following a search of his apartment early in the investigation. Schultz was scheduled for a hearing about the cocaine charge in a Richmond court today. Peterson says that Schultz did appear before the grand jury on Wednesday.
Though still not confirmed by authorities, most major news sources are reporting confirmation from sources close to the family of Taylor Behl, that they are 99.9% certain the remains found on Wednesday, are those of Taylor.
The story continues to unfold as more details behind the discovery of what may be Taylor Behl's remains. Some news outlets are reporting that clothing found with the remains have already been identified by Taylor's family, and meet the description of what she was wearing when she left her dorm room late in the evening on September 5. VCU police investigators, who traveled to the location following "credible" information from an unnamed source, discovered the shallow grave.

The significance of the location of the shallow grave discovered early on Wednesday begins to clarify, as more and more details come forth. The location is one that Taylor is known to have been to previously, in the company 38-year old Ben Fawley. Fawley is in an isolation cell in Richmond waiting for his preliminary hearing on what the police call "unrelated child pornography charges." All along investigators have been interested in Fawley, as he admits to having had a sexual relationship with Taylor, and he admits to being one of the last people to see her before she disappeared.

Sources have informed various news media that the site is one that Fawley has used for background in some of his photo shoots. Looking through many of Fawley's online photo albums, many people, including myself, have discovered pictures that appear to be in a setting similar to that shown in news footage of the abandoned farm in Mathews, VA. Richmond Police Chief, Rodney Monroe told the press that the area became a target of their investigation after investigators viewed pictures of Taylor identified as being on that property.

Perhaps drawing a more direct correlation between the property and Fawley is information revealed later to the media, which is that the property may belong to the parents of one of Fawley's ex-girlfriends. In one report, this girlfriend is the one that led the way to the abandoned farm this morning. The ex-girlfriend may be Erin Crabill, as some sources are now posting information that supports Erin as having ties to Mathews community.

Click on the pictures bordered in light teal, and a larger picture will open. Near the bottom border, I have placed the file name of the picture - printed in "hot pink"- as given by Fawley. These buildings appear similar, and some say these are the same buildings shown in photographs of the area taken by the media. If these buildings are located on that farm, then it would not be much of a stretch to connect Erin to the farm, and would thereby connect Ben Fawley to the abandoned farm.
